Many Penang attractions have set-up preventive and precautionary measures in preparation ahead for the new norms, said Yeoh

GEORGE TOWN – Many Penang attractions have set-up preventive and precautionary measures in preparation ahead for the new norms, said Penang State EXCO for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage YB Yeoh Soon Hin.

Yeoh, in a visit to Habitat this morning, said there were precautionary measures including regular sanitisation, disinfection and temperature screening efforts planned in place even ahead of the opening under RMCO.

He said according to Habitat operator, they will be limiting the number of visitors as part of their SOP to ensure that social distancing is kept.

“The state government have started engaging the tourism players from April to prepare them for the ‘next norm’ through Penang Tourism Roundtable Discussion: Penang Tourism, The Next Norm.

“At state level, we feel that it is important to ease tourism players into the transition of the ‘next norm’ for tourism to be ready to resume fully in Penang.

“These efforts would be crucial in state effort to spur domestic tourism in Penang and in beginning tourism once more to ensure that Penang remains a desirable destination,” he said in a statement today.
